Missions
"...Freely you have received,
freely give." --Matthew 10:8
As United Methodists in general and specifically as Yorkville
United Methodists, we have always had a deep concern for helping
those in need. Jesus taught us to help others in need and share
our blessings. To learn more about why this is important to
us, see Importance of Missions.
At Yorkville United Methodist Church we believe in supporting
both local and international missions, several of which you
can learn more about by following the links below. We also respond
to disasters locally and around the world. Our missions are
funded through special offerings, through various church groups,
and from general offerings. Does it sound like missions should
be your mission? You can become a part of the Mission
Team by making your wishes known!
Helping Others Through...
Food Bank
The local Food Bank helps feed people in our own community.
Learn how to support the local food bank or how to receive benefits
from it.
Adopt-a-Highway
The clean-up of a stretch of Highway 20 is organized by
Boy Scouts troop 310. God created the Earth; let's show
our appreciation by keeping it clean!
Work Camp
Each year a group of volunteers attend a Work Camp to provide
assistance to United Methodist campgrounds, disaster relief,
or other special projects.
Join
us as we give freely of ourselves to help others!
