Food Bank
"He sent them all the food they could eat." --Psalm 78:25
Have you ever felt the pangs of hunger? For some this is a never-ending feeling. Please do not think this just happens in under-developed countries; it happens right here in our community. The Union Grove Area Food Bank strives to keep the hungry fed. Yorkville United Methodist is one of eleven churches assisting the Food Bank. Here's how you can help:

Donate food by taking it to the Food Bank or bringing it with you to church.

Donate money.

Clean your closet and donate used clothing for the sales held in May and September (all items priced at or less than fifty cents).

Volunteer on the Board of Directors. Meetings are held the second Monday morning of the month at 8:30 a.m.
If you need assistance:

Request help through our pastor, Human Services or the Food Bank Director.

Ask the Salvation Army about vouchers for help with late rent or utilities.

Sign up for a holiday food basket. They are distributed at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Request help to get your family through a sudden illness, job loss or other unfortunate event.
Stop hunger of your soul by attending church, and stop hunger for others by supporting the Food Bank!
