Things to Do
"After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church." --Ephesians 5:29
We, the members of the Yorkville
United Methodist Church, are very
committed to our church. This is
evidenced by the time we devote to
our church family. We are very much
involved. We are active in social
activities and we participate in organizations
and committees/teams. Take a tour with us as
we share with you what it truly means to be a "Yorkville
United Methodist!"
Have We Got a Group for You!
Youth Ministries
Yorkville youth are involved in a variety of ministries:
Youth CONVO, Work Camp, and Scouting.
Fellowship Groups
We provide a variety of opportunities for members who
would like to become part of a group of people who share
common interests. These groups are social with a focus
on mission projects. Fellowship groups are varied and
include United Methodist Women Candlelight Circle, United
Methodist Women Daytime Circle, United Methodist Men,
Bowling, Youth CONVO and Scouting. So, if you are into
being social with a purpose, come and join one of our
many fellowship groups!
Music Groups
We are known in the community as the "Singing Church." Take a look at our music groups and find out why!
Committees/Teams
The work of the Church is accomplished,
in large part, organizationally by
committees/teams. Committees/teams
include the Administrative Council,
the Communications/Web Team, Worship
Team, Staff/Parish Relations Committee,
Missions Team, Christian Education
Team, Trustees, and Evangelism/Membership
Care Team. We believe there is a
committee or ministry team just for
you!
Fundraisers
As is the case with most churches, we have a need to
supplement our budget with fundraisers. Our primary fundraisers
include our semi-annual Pork Chop Dinners and Fall Harvest
Days. A short term, highly focused activity may just
appeal to you!
Read on to learn more about these exciting opportunities!
