Committees/Teams
"Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all of them." --Romans 12:4-5
Committees and teams are the official
structure by which the business of
the church is conducted. The chairpersons
of the various committees and teams
are elected at the Annual Conference
in December of each year. Other committee/team
members may be elected at the Annual
Conference or appointed by the various
committee/team chairpersons. For
the most part participation on committees/teams
may be either by members or friends
of the church. Our committee/team
chairpersons are always looking for
new members. When you visit our church,
you will find copies of our Annual
Conference report in the lobby.
Committees & Teams: A Directory
Administrative Council
The official decision making committee for our church. Membership consists of the chairpersons of the other committees.
Christian
Education Team
Coordinate Sunday School and Vacation Church School.
An interest in teaching and learning experiences would
make you a valuable addition to our education ministry.
Evangelism/Membership
Care Team
Reaches out to people with the good
news of Jesus Christ. We encourage
people to become a part of the community
of God by welcoming them with genuine
Christian hospitality so that they
may develop a relationship with God
and live as a Christian disciple.
Sends greetings to homebound persons,
new babies, college students, and
our "snow birds" (adults
who travel south in winter). Be
a member of our team and encourage
others.
Missions
Team
Responsible for the various mission
activities that our church supports.
Helping those in our community -
local, state, national and international - may
be just what you are looking for. Become a part
of this team for a very rewarding experience.
Staff Parish Relations Committee
Works as a team within the congregation to interpret our local church's mission and vision with its constituencies and oversees all paid staff of our church. Are you good at interpersonal relationships? Come and join us!
Trustees
Responsible for the physical facilities - church, parsonage and garage. Responsibilities also include care of the lawn and campus. Are you knowledgeable and handy when it comes to maintenance and repairs? Your expertise is needed!
Communications/Web Team
The creator and developer of this Web site and other communications
for Yorkville United Methodist Church. If you enjoy working
on the computer and have a touch of creativity, our team is
looking forward to welcoming you aboard!
Worship
Team
Works with the pastor and music leader(s)
to ensure that our congregation has
opportunities for worship which help us experience
a relationship with God and enable us to live
more faithfully as a Christian community. Interested
in helping to plan the worship service? We can
use you on this team.
