Worship

“It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’” –Luke 4:8

“Sharing God’s Love” is what the Yorkville United Methodist Church is all about! That concept is most evident in our worship. We sing together, we share our joys, we share our concerns, we share God’s word and we praise God’s presence in our daily lives. On the first Sunday of each month we share Holy Communion.

All of our services and our church school program (held during the school year) are open to everyone. We hope you will join us!

Our Sunday morning 8:00 a.m. service provides a casual setting with an emphasis on music. This informal praise service is led by our pastor and uses music videos to help with the worship.  Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m. is our blended/traditional service.  It includes organ and piano music and often a special music piece.  Fellowship time follows this service each week.

What to Expect…
Yorkville United Methodist Church is a safe space for all.  We welcome believers, seekers and doubters. We encourage people to seek answers to their spiritual questions.  We help individuals grow in their faith and be encouraged by others.

What to wear?
Wear whatever clothes make you feel comfortable.  We are glad to have you join us!

How long will the service be?
Most services last about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes, but they do occasionally go a bit longer.

Will I be asked to participate?
You will not be put on the spot or singled-out.  You are welcome to participate in any way you choose.  Although we won’t single you out, someone will probably notice you and welcome you to the church.

What about the offering?
We do take a monetary offering during worship and about once a month we collect a special offering for a designated mission.  You are welcome to contribute, but there is no need to feel obligated to do so.

Can I participate in communion?
Everyone is welcome at the Lord’s table.  We offer communion on the first Sunday of each month.  You can learn more about communion here.

Communion at YUMC is observed with bread and grape juice.  We also offer gluten free wafers.

Will I be able to hear the worship?
Yes.  All leaders in the service use a microphone so their voice is amplified.  Our facility is equipped with a hearing assistance system. If you need assistance, please connect with someone in our AV booth at the rear of the sanctuary.

Do you have any another questions not answered here?  Please call our church office at (262)878-2388.

We hope you will join us this Sunday!!!
