Worship at the Veterans Home (Boland Hall)

At a meeting of the Lay Leadership Committee, we discussed how we might help to grow a culture of worship and prayer, not only within the church building, but beyond.

I have a passion for providing worship opportunities in the assisted living and nursing home communities around our church. During these services, we sing hymns, I offer a brief message, and we celebrate the sacrament of Communion together.

It would be wonderful to have folks from our church attend or help out at the services. It would offer an opportunity to experience worship in a new way. You could help lead their singing, talk to them before and after the service, or help with facilitating the service. If you would be interested in coming to a service, here is when and where they take place:

• 1st Tuesday at 9:30am at Timber Oaks Assisted Living (1390 8th Ave, Union Grove, WI 53182)
• 1st Tuesday at 10:15am at Oak Ridge Care Center (1400 8th Avenue, Union Grove, WI 53182
• 1st Thursday at 10:15am at Waterford Senior Living (301 6th St, Waterford, WI 53185) – Carol Lee, a member of Yorkville UMC lives there and regularly attends the service.
• 3rd Thursday at 10:00am at the Veterans Home (21425 G, Spring St, Union Grove, WI 53182) – We meet in Boland Hall in the chapel.
